Every year a "Cruise in Company" leg is part of The Tall Ships Races. This leg is not a competitive event, but a cruise of friendship and adventure giving the ships a choice of alternative sailing routes. The Cruise in Company leg is always suitable for crew exchange between participating vessels, it's a chance to gain new experience and frends among the Tall Ships. The route between the ports Kotka and Turku leads throught the most beautiful archipelago of the eastern region of the Baltic Sea. The leg ends in the city of Turku, oldest city in Finland and one of the oldest in all of the Nordic region. The river is considered the heart and soul of the city, its birthplace and a quintessential element of life in the city - the whole place really revolves around the water running through it. The banks of the river are home to restaurants, cafes, museums and all the sights you'd want to see while in the city. Turku is proud of its wide range of museums which hold a wealth of national treasures significant to the heritage of Finland.
